Hopefully everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. OK, so it’s been a few days since my last post, but I had to take some time away to focus on some other things, so I will do my best to catch up on some things.
Starting first with the news I’m sure many have heard already. Jerry Krantz, owner of Denver’s legendary jazz club, El Chapultepec passed away yesterday morning. Denver Post article here.
Denver’s City Park Jazz free summer concert series kicks off the season this weekend on Sunday at Ferril Lake pavilion from 6-8 pm. The Adam Bodine Trio will perform. If you’ve not been to one of these shows in City Park you would be greatly advised to get there early to pick out a great spot.
The Jazz on 2nd Ave festival in Niwot now in it’s second year last week released via facebook a line-up that is still being updated as we speak. Information on the website has not yet been updated. but the line-up so far includes.

The Historic Westminster Jazz Fest is an event I came across a couple of weeks ago that will be taking place June 9th from 12-5 over at 72nd and Lowell in Westminster. This event is in it’s first year and should be a great time. The talent list includes.
The Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts
Manuel Lopez Latin Jazz Project
Eric Trujillo Jazz Quartet
This event is free. There is also an art walk happening from 10-6.
Finally there is a new website for the Longmont Jazz Festival ! The festival takes place July 20th-22nd.
And still there is no update on the Fort Collins Jazz Experience, which is to take place July 12th-14th. The latest from the downtownfortcollins.com website says there is information coming in May, but I’ve not seen anything as of yet.
